European Green Cities "Climate Adaptation in Cities we are meeting an enormous challenge how can we reach our common EU targets for CO2-reduction in cities?". In Copenhagen just before the UN Climate Summit. The idea is to inform about climate strategies throughout EU and especially Denmark and to combine strategies with climate related projects in a municipality, developed by local initiatives. The conference is in English and people/partners from different EU countries and Danish projects are invited. Preliminary programme: Morning: 9.20-9.40 The EU Environmental Agency in Copenhagen EU climate strategies for cities. 9.40-12.30 City planners presentations of local and successful climate strategies. 12.30-13.30 Lunch in Trekanten. 13.30-17.00 Bus tour to climate related projects in Hvidovre. The Sustainable Stadium climate related project for sport activities and energy savings (The Green Key)Evening Venue: Hvidovre Municipality Citizens Hall follow-up on visited projects in workshops 9.00: Arrival to the Citizens Hall Open Space Scenario the hall will be divided in 5 session sections with different exhibition materials. 5 thematic workshops are arranged with exhibitions (different companies related to the projects). Participants have pre-registered to 2-3 workshops all are allowed to walk around in the Open Space Scenario and visit different workshops with speakers and relevant materials. 9.15: Welcome to Hvidovre Mayor Milton Graff Pedersen, Hvidovre Municipality.Presentation of workshops by director Jens Frendrup, EGC5 workshops, where speakers (technicians/project developers/politicians/citizens), who are responsible for the visited projects (on Thursday), will make presentations of the projects. Financing of climate projects is presented in a specific workshop. Workshop A: Wind energy the establishment of local wind power. Workshop B: Solar Energy on the basis of the Solarhouse. Workshop C: Energy savings on the basis of the sustainable stadium - and ESCO (Energy Service Company). Workshop D: Financing of climate related projects. Workshop E: District heating as an alternative to individual heating and in connection with low energy housing. 12.30: Closing of workshops by the Chairman of FBBB, Peder Vejsig Pedersen.12.45: Lunch at the Citizens Hall. 14.00: Returning to the hotel. Registration Fee - Participants pay 100 EURO to cover some part of costs for lunch, bus transport etc. for the two day.
